Class History:
“I started teaching ‘Audition Psych. 101’ when I realized that most of the audition classes out there only dealt with ‘cold reading’ techniques. And I know from personal experience, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. There's a whole other world inside an actor's brain. For us, much of the challenge of auditioning comes not from any lack of acting ability, but from things like fear, anxiety, self-sabotage, over-thinking, feeling unworthy, feeling intimidated, and so on. I decided to analyze the approaches that have helped me navigate my way through this psychologically complicated business, and pass them along to my fellow auditioners. The response has been quite something.”

Michael has taught “Audition Psych. 101” through San Jose Rep, AFTRA (Los Angeles), Cal State Fullerton, The Academy for New Musical Theatre, SAG (Dallas), Actors’ Equity (Washington, D.C.), The Baltimore Theatre Alliance, Center Stage (Baltimore) and as a guest instructor for several private acting teachers. His most recent AFTRA class drew over three hundred reservations. He currently teaches the workshop once a month in Hollywood.
